Gorse Hill | Parveen & Sam

Parveen & Sam had a quite complicated brief, 3 celebrations, the first was not to be photographed, the second, for Parveen's family and the third a Chinese celebration with Sam's family. I was lucky enough to get the middle celebration and a day with Sam, Parveen and her family. With Sam being a keen photographer the day was generously in favour of the couple portraits and lots and lots of time was allocated to doing these. Really this was my dream day! Two 1 hour slots for portraits mixed in with family images, a boat ride, a cake cutting followed by an afternoon tea! We met at Gorse Hill where the couple were getting ready. I loved the contrast of their rooms, Sam's organised, calm, neat and quiet and Parveens with a bed laden with make up, her sisters, niece and mum and hair and make up artist all squeezed into the tiniest of spaces!

The grounds of Gorse Hill are gorgeous and thank goodness we had a beautiful day (a rarity so far this year) and we made the most of it before driving to Windsor and continuing our shoot. The couple and family had lunch before we all boarded a boat for a trip up and down the river Thames - the children loved it! Back at Gorse Hill we finished the family images and cut the cake from Bea's of Bloomsbury before the couple very kindly invited me to stay for afternoon tea (thank you!) I loved this day and this couple and I am gutted not to be shooting their 3rd and final celebration but for now lets revel in this day...
